Farm Trade Australia to host inaugural Agribusiness Forum

Farm Trade Australia (FTA) is very pleased to be hosting its inaugural Agribusiness Forum.

 The Agribusiness Forum will be held on Wednesday 3 March 2021 at the Horsham Golf Club.

 David Matthews, farmer and FTA Director, said the forum was a fantastic opportunity for farmers and industry to get together in lieu of the Wimmera Machinery Field Days.  “The forum is a great opportunity for farmers to talk all things faming and agriculture and hear about some of the exciting new innovations that FTA is involved in.”

 ”We are extremely fortunate to have Jane Bunn, meteorologist and 7News weather presenter, leading the day. Jane will provide us with a seasonal outlook and then, she will be unveiling her new farmer-focused weather app,” said Mr Matthews.

 “Each session has a business focus, and we have a terrific line-up of speakers. It’s all about improving the profitability of farm businesses which of course leads to more vibrant rural communities.”

 Topics of the forum include:
- turning climate change into profit;
- rising land values - a banker’s perspective;
- understanding the fertiliser market;
- Malteurop malt barley project;
- Australian Grain Technologies high fibre wheat market project;
- Turning data into dollars; and
- farmer focus session.

A detailed program can be found on the Farm Trade Australia website: farmtradeaustralia.com.au

 The days commences at 830am for an 855am start and concludes around 3pm. Cost is free, and lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Farm Trade Australia is seeking farmers to work together to build and grow a farmer owned agribusiness with the aim of giving farmers greater influence in the food and fibre supply chains.

 The underlying philosophy of Farm Trade Australia is to deliver a greater share of the returns from agricultural production back to farmers and rural communities. By working collaboratively, FTA believes the competitive position of farm businesses can be improved, whilst also attracting increased investment back into regional communities.
